?
I am so completely numbed when I look at images of death on the internet. Can images of death have any symbolism or power anymore?
Fuck yes. Without the internet, most of us would never have access to images like these. It’s a tremendous vehicle, a way into the gritty details that life tries to keep from us. And at the same time, of course there’s an obfuscation, a distance from what death feels like and smells like. But I don’t think access and obfuscation necessarily cancel each other out, you know?
