seven seconds
It has often been reported that the eyes and mouths of people beheaded have shown signs of movement. It has been calculated that the human brain has enough oxygen stored for metabolism to persist about 7 seconds after the head is cut off.

Don't lose your head
i'm thinking about making some large drawings of beheadings. The idea of the head being seperate from the body is a bazaar concept. I feel so linked to my body all the time, what must the moments be like just before you die? I think there are interesting abstract possibilities with doing pictures of heads seperate the body.
